Ehrenstein, G.

Professor Dr.-Ing Dr. h. c. Gottfried Wilhelm Ehrenstein obtained a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University in Hannover, Germany. After his university studies, he was employed for 10 years within the Technical Plastics Application Department at BASF AG. From 1977 until 1989, he was the director for plastics material technology at the University of Kassel. Since 1989, he has been the professor and director o the newly established Institute of Polymer Technology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. In 1992, he became an honorary doctorate in 1996 from the Technical University in Budapest. He has more than 250 international publications and 15 books specializing in polymer technology processing and design.
