Kursbeschreibung

“Principles of Designing Bio-Based Chemical Products” is the first Hanser eCampus course in a series covering bio-based monomers, polymers, and sustainable materials. This course give a solid introduction to bio-based monomers, polymers, and related materials, such as plastics additives and fillers. It provides robust definitions of key terms, highlights the product value proposition of sustainable business, and relates this to the principles of Green Chemistry.

The student will learn how to classify the important polymer feedstocks (renewable and non-renewable); how they fit into the markets for various types of products; and how to evaluate them considering economic, performance, environmental, and societal aspects. Each module corresponds to approx. 20 to 35 minutes of learning.
